Teaching Strategies for the Digital Age
It’s hard to be in the education world these days without hearing something about “21st century learning.” Most educators have a grasp of the overall spirit of the phrase, and certainly of its manifestations in their schools. It might seem like every year there are new 21st century terms and best practices to keep track of, and it may seem difficult for some educators to incorporate aspects of this pedagogy into their curricula. But, it is definitely an essential skill aspect our students need to succeed in this forevermore changing world.
In ED 307-Teaching Strategies for the Digital Age course broke down 21st century partnering framework and made teaching 21st century students seem much easier than ever before. Teaching Strategies for the Digital Age encourages questioning of previously conceived notions about the qualities and characteristics that make a good teacher and how to use those qualities to better and increase learner awareness regarding ever-changing student needs. I learned valuable information about the unique characteristics of today’s digital-age students and 21st century pedagogical strategies used for instructing this population. Upon completion of the course, I definitely have the ability to locate, use, and assess a variety of tech tools that are used for student inquiry. I also have the ability to create and present content-based lessons that model explored teaching strategies.
