Welcome to Ms. Trotman’s First Grade!!
This is such an exciting year and a very busy one too! Throughout the course of this year, you will see us really begin to take off in our reading and writing skills. We also will be exploring many new and exciting topics in math, science, and social studies as well. We will also learn a lot about ourselves, our classmates, and what it means to be a part of a classroom community.
It is my goal to create a safe, loving, and inviting atmosphere in my classroom. I strive to provide a classroom where students feel free to take risks, accept challenges, and make mistakes. This is how learning takes place! I definitely believe that all students can succeed although success is defined differently for every child. I also, strive to individualize my instruction in order to best encourage the strengths and support the weaknesses of each child. I consider it a privilege to be able to work with your child in the pursuit of helping them to be the best that they can be.
Thank you for joining me on this journey and I look forward to working closely with you all throughout the year. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments or concerns.
There are a few things I need you to know as we begin our year working together in the education of your child.
